I be in motion to Control Panel to correct my defaulting printer but it keep reverting to the printer I don't want. Why?

I'm using Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4700C.

I be in motion to Control Panel to correct my defaulting printer but it keep reverting to the printer I don't want. Why?

Control panel Printers and Faxes will select a intercontinental default printer.

However, a program may hold its own preference for printer. Check the program you are trying to print from. Perhaps you entail to select the printer from there and next CLOSE the print dialogue box.

It could also be that you have select options contained by the program that are not available from the default printer, so it is doing the clever entry and choosing another printer.
Can you change it by using the software that come with the printer?
printer properties and be sure the printer you want is properly installed....right click on the current failure to pay printer and select to not have it as defaulting, then select the one you do want and do equal thing but set it as non-attendance.....reboot.
Are you making sure the printer you want to set as default is installed and on at the time your trying to formulate it default? Hewlett Packard printers will set regisrty entries that fold the setting of other printers as default...do you hold a Hewlett Packard printer currently set as default...if you do check this out..
