I get a printer for Christmas, I hold to hold both cartriges surrounded by, don't use color so how long till it dries up

it will dry up after almost 6 months or so.If it did dry up pull it out and put it on a showery paper towel .ink side down and this will draw the ink vertebrae down I had to do this b 4.
Aproximatly 4 months over, and if it does dry up, juse use the steam from a hot marine boiler and it will work again , Ive done this many times b4
ink does hold an expriation date on the package usually, its roughly in the order of 1 '1/2 - 2 years from date of purchase.
I would give it from 6 months to one year.
The ink will dry up on the ports which will provide some protection. If you find you want to use it down the road, you may stipulation to clean the ports stale yourself if your printer doesn't have that remedy. If you never intend to use it, just start out in contained by there since it don't situation. It should last forever if you lately need it as a place-holder.
brand new printers still use colored ink when set to black , to prevent color cartidge from going bad.
Printer still use for a moment bit of color ink even when printing black. Don't worry roughly the color ink drying out as long as you use the printer regularly. Every time you turn on the printer it will go through a short cleaning process to clear out any remaining ink the nozzles the end time you use it, even if you don't use the color cartridges. During this short process the printer will use a little bit of ink surrounded by all cartridges, so there's no arbitrary that your color ink will dry out.
